LIVELIHOOD PROMOTION

EFEF has a new ascend in promoting the livelihood of elders in all their intervention areas. Since its inception, EFEF with the grants of Help Age India promote the livelihood activities by revolving the seed capital along with the savings of ESHGs and Federations. In course of time linkages with financial institutions were attempted. In the year 2012-13 credit assistance of Rupees 2.5 crores availed by the Cuddalore, Nagapattinam District Federation.

Witnessing the progress of ESHGs performance in micro credit activities and the need to scale up credit assistance to more number of SHGs, EFEF had linkage with NABARD Financial Service Limited (NABFIN). 24 January 2012 is a distinguished day in the anuals of EFEF. On that day the district level federation of Cuddalore, Nagapattinam and Vedaranyam signed a MoU with NABFIN. These federations function as Business Correspondents extent micro credit services to ESHGs exclusively for promoting livelihood of the elderly.
