EFEF takes the needed steps for the optimum utility of services from 14 numbers of palliative and primary care centre of Help Age India located across the project area except Virudhunagar district. The vibrant medical team (consisting of Doctor, Nurse and Physiotherapist) is making home visits, besides medical and psychological care and palliative care services to the needy.

The Community Managed Palliative Care Plus (CMPCP) project (Ref. 317/10552) aims to provide palliative care to chronically ill elderly in the coverage villages of EFEF through active community participation and thus improve the quality of life of targeted elders in the villages of Cuddalore, Nagapattinam districts in the state of Tamil Nadu and Kollam in the state of Kerala. Overall, the objectives of the CMPCP as evinced by the EFEF’s Community leaders were 1) to empower the local community to look after chronically ill elderly and 2) to establish a cost-effective and locally driven system for provision of Palliative care for elderly.




Milestone


Seven multi- purpose elder care centers established by Help Age India, which are under the management of DLF

. Three hundred and twenty eight (328) bedridden patients are getting medical support under “Home Care Visit” at “Palliative care sub-centers in T.N & Kerela.
